Gothic novels

I think in a Gothic Novel, the most effective element would be atmosphere. I feel this is more effective to readers because it the atmosphere plays more with the readers feelings. An example would be in the book Frankenstein when Frankenstein was creating the monster, the atmosphere is gloomy and dark. The readers would think something bad or sad was going to happen. The atmosphere controls practically all the reader's feelings or thoughts on what is happening.

Secret Identity

If I was a super hero, I would only tell my family my identity. Why? Family is for life. No matter what my family is always going to be there and I trust them with everything I have. Friends are nice, but I never know when 1 friends will betray me. Like Uncle Felix in Spy Kids or Judas in the Bible. Also, I do not know my co-workers life or what they are thinking inside. They could seem nice and trustworthy on the outside, but in the inside they are really untrustworthy and evil. Like Doctor. Jeckle and Mr. Hide or Luke from the Percy Jackson series. I never know who I can trust outside my family, so my family would be the only people to know my secret identity.
